As a college student, walking around campus bald made me feel like the loneliest person on the plane
No one fighting cancer should walk alone. I luckily met a mentor, Dr. Marjorie Smelstor, who encouraged me to write a ten-page autobiography for her class.
Some 25 years later, I wrote the manuscript for my son Lance from the heart and never intended to publish it. The language, feelings, and intimate look at both cancer's despair and the unquenchable will to reclaim life were solely intended for him.
After some encouragement, I decided to publish Better Dirty Than Done to help others. I hope my story of survivorship and living can provide a beacon of light to anyone fighting cancer battling for more time. My greatest wish is that you find inspiration and hope from this story and keep going.
