The Story Behind Rick Czaplewski

At age 19, while a college freshman, Rick Czaplewski’s parents knocked on his dorm room door on an otherwise normal Tuesday and told him, “Son, you have cancer.” Determined to just be a normal student, Rick received radiation treatment at the hospital next to his university. Determined to fit in, he walked daily from his dorm room to the hospital, by himself, and told no one. He walked alone.

Those treatments worked … until 18 months later, his parents told him, “Rick the cancer is back.” A relapse. Rick dropped out of college, moved in with his parents, and underwent chemotherapy and more radiation. Determined to earn his degree, he beat cancer, returned to college, and graduated.

He returned to life with a vengeance, determined to take back the athletic body cancer stole from him. Rick climbed Mt. Rainier, swam from Alcatraz, and ran the Boston Marathon. Today, as a member of the National Speakers Association, he blows away audiences with his story with one mission … to tell you No One Walks Alone.

Mission Statement

To inspire audiences and make sure every listener knows No One Walks Alone.
